For over 100 years Thurlestone Hotel has been one of the leading hotels in the South West and has won numerous awards. We invest heavily in staff training and as a team are totally passionate about what we do.

Our aim is to try and exceed the expectations of our guests and we enjoy taking on the challenge of achieving higher standards and winning new awards.

Hotel of the Year 2004

Known as the 'tourism Oscars', the awards celebrate 'the best in the South West', and aim to promote and reward quality in the tourism industry.
Entrants had to demonstrate the following:

• an exceptionally high quality of customer care
• Continual improvement of facilities.
• sustainability was an important criterion
• a commitment to recycling and care of the environment.
• accessibility for disabled customers - many of the winners have specially adapted facilities and staff are trained to welcome visitors with various disabilities.

A symbol of this commitment is our membership of the Green Tourism Business Scheme. The scheme provides accreditation and encouragement for tourism businesses to reduce the environmental impact of their activities. By encouraging sustainable practices the scheme ensures the continued enjoyment of the environment around us for future generations.
