Situated in a spectacular unspoilt coastal location in Devon ; the Thurlestone Hotel has all the ingredients for a perfect family holiday and warmly welcomes families. We offer an extensive choice of free of charge, on site leisure facilities and activities for all ages.  During the main school holidays we also have our very own dedicated children's Danny the Dolphin Club

Our reputation and many years of experience have been awarded with the prestigious Egon Ronay Henry the Duck award for excellence in catering and facilities for children.

A short distance from the hotel are two safe sandy beaches providing the perfect place for the family to play, paddle, swim, snorkel, canoe, windsurf, sail, explore the rock pools and build sandcastles. The larger of the two, Thurlestone Sands is an award winning Blue Flag National Trust beach with summertime lifeguard service. Bantham beach, 10 minutes drive away is renowned for its great waves for any children wanting to surf.

Thurlestone Hotel can offer the following choice of spacious four star family suites and rooms where families can be accommodated together: Sea view family suites, village view family suites and sea view standard family rooms.

All family rooms have baby listening and we are happy to provide cots, linen, highchairs, and pre-bookable baby sitting service. The following children's supplements apply to our normal family room tariff:

• 0 - 2 years Free of charge
• 3 - 7 years £25 per day
• 8 - 12 years £35 per day

These supplements include breakfast and children's supper

Childrens Menu

We offer a choice of dining arrangements for your children dependent on their age.

Younger children

Children's supper is served daily from 5.15 - 6pm in the restaurant with our new children's menu now featuring a number of healthy organic options and daily specials - see below. We regret that babies and children in high chairs are not permitted in the restaurant during dinner

Older Children

Are welcome to join their parents for dinner in the restaurant instead of children's supper at an additional charge of £20, but we do ask that all children are on their best behaviour. Special non-alcoholic children's cocktails are available for special treats. During school holiday periods the restaurant will open half an hour earlier to allow guests with younger children to dine together.

Children's indoor facilities include our warm indoor pool with separate paddling pool, well equipped play room, children's video and games library, family badminton courts, table tennis and snooker room and as a special treat for young ladies, mini manicures and facials are now available on request from our Beauty Room

Children's entertainment through the school holidays, in addition to those offered at Danny the Dolphin Club includes magicians, film shows, competiitions and quizzes.

 

 

Children's outdoor facilities include large heated outdoor pool with children's paddling pool, hotel gardens with plenty of space to play, children's climbing frame, family tennis courts, croquet and 9 hole golf course.
