France vs The Rest of the World!
No country on earth makes as many fascinatingly brilliant wines as France. The birthplace of so many wine styles, it is a nation that produces endless benchmark examples of style that the world tries to emulate.  

That said, it does not mean that France is not under threat, for although the sum of all that France produces may be more impressive than any other nation, it is a reality that excellent wines are made the world over, and they keep getting better! 

This weekend is hosted by Master of Wine Liam Steevenson and his team at RED&WHITE, our local wine merchant.   As one of the youngest of only 27 Masters of Wine worldwide, Liam is able to inject an enjoyable, sociable evening with plenty of information and humour.

FRIDAY
Classic Champagne Vs. Fizz Tasting

Featuring some classic champagnes against a mixture of Prosecco, Cava, and New World bubbly.

Pinot Noir Dinner
Pairing some truly fabulous french examples against the “best of the rest”. 

SATURDAY
Sauvignon Blanc Lunch
Comparing two of France’s traditional and archetypal Sauvignons, against two more” fashionable” adversarys from the New World.

Rhone Varietal Tasting
The Rhone regions of North and South produce an array of varietals that have been exported and “tweaked” the world over. From the Syrah/Shiraz and Marsanne of the North, which have become almost synonymous with Australian wine production; to the Viognier, Grenache and Muscat of the South – this tasting will have a something for everyone.

Liam’s Head-to-Head Dinner
Liam Steevenson has personally selected his favourite three French wines to make a stand against three of his favourite “pretenders” to their crown from the Rest of the World. There can only be one winner….. or can there?
